Does anybody have any experience with Cathay's upgrade of tier status with insufficient points? I had my MPC member from green to silver and to gold with about 25% - 35% insufficient miles, immediately before the MPC program revamp last year. Now after the MPC program revamp, I am like 2% (points) away from getting Diamond, but Cathay is not doing anything, no bump-up, haha. I think that Cathay is right now really not giving any leeway even when the passenger is super close to the next tier. I kind of like it to keep the bar high.
I believe this was discussed a few months ago. I saw someone who got
upgraded to DM with a few missing points.

For what its worth, I have a 1 regional YCL, 1 regional JCL, 1 regional FCL (the 744 farewell
), and 1 long haul JCL booked and ticketed over the next 3 months.
I knew that CX was quite generous in renewing a tier when you're short on club miles / sectors (up to 15%), but I had always thought CX was stringent on moving up tiers (you might get an extra one month or two, but u had to get all the necessary club miles / sectors).
Anyway, rather nice of CX, esp. since I have that YCL flight next week.
