You just answered your own question.

The issue is clock maintenance, not whether or not to have a clock in the room.

When rooms are cleaned after quest checks out, alarms must be turned off.

Daylight savings time is when all clocks need to be reset.

Simple operating procedures, but frequently overlooked.
