When I rented from Avis OGG a couple years ago, I seemed to be getting the last car on the lot. It's not a very big operation, but a lot of tourists, presumably some who "overstay" the rental, leading to "this is all we've got" situations even more than typically on the mainland. (In my case I was not trying for "specialty", but just noticed that there were hardly any vehicles on the lot at the time I was picking up other than mine, and found that very unusual.)
