I think I am above average in what you do when traveling. The good news (I think) is that the only spare batteries I travel with are double AA which I "think" are far less of an issue.

Although I gave you a gentle dig I certainly don't imagine that you are alone, or even in a minority. There has been quite a lot of press publicity of late and there are some impressive videos of what happens but getting people to absorb the information is another matter.
