What kind of phone do you have? If you have an iPhone, Apple added a security feature in iOS 7 to require permission in order to access your phones data via USB. Simply select "Don't Trust" when connecting your device.

I can understand the desire for a hardware firewall, but unless you have nuclear codes on your phone, the software protection should be sufficient.
