5 people trying to leave together each morning with one bathroom is not ideal.
But at least Japanese homes almost always have separate rooms for toilet and bath/shower room. And there's often a bathroom sink outside of the bath/shower room. So, one person can shave/ brush teeth while another is showering, while the toilet is still free for anyone who needs it. (And the kitchen sink can be strictly for food prep and dish washing only).
