Here's the story on spell checkers. We've purposely backed away from investing and implenting them for one reason - we're told that the next generation of browsers all come with them built-in, which coincidently, is why several of the spell checkers that were previously available to plug in to bulletin boards have disappeared. I guess they could even see the handwriting - no matter how it is spelled - on the wall. I've read this in several of the pubs that keep track of these things and it's also the answer from the technology solutions like vBulletin whom we license this software from. I can see how no one would want to invest the kind of money needed to make it work well when Microsoft is right behind them. That's the news from here on this topic and if there is any change or if there is any chance we can still come up with a temporary solution which would not be throwing money out the window, we'll certainly take a chance for the short term.
Good question and one that we have constantly asked ourselves. Hope this helps understand where we are right now. Thanks again for the question.
