Went to a new pizza place last night with VX805s attached to their POS system (but on the cashiers' side of the counter
). EMV wasn't enabled and I could have sworn it said Elavon on the display before the cashier activated it, but I can't be sure on the latter.
At least they're not on mounts attached to the POSes like what In-N-Out uses.

Maybe they're giving you a new card due to fraud somewhere?
