You may want to think about trying to make the trip happen sooner. SQ is introducing a new Suites product next year and have said it will have fewer seats, which does not bode well for award availability.

As others have noted, on competitive routes like JFK it is pretty much required to book as soon as the calendar opens a year out. So I don't know what you're targeting in looking to book a few years from now, but if you have the miles, it would be worth thinking about booking something in the next few months (for travel next year).
