I haven't been able to find any relevant info regarding recent approvals though.

I'm slightly curious to find out. I downgraded my A+ to the no-fee Arrival and I'm wondering if I can reapply for the A+ again and earn this bonus. I don't know that I'll apply either way, but just curious since if nothing else it could help with those super expensive seaplane transfers in the Maldives.
I've had 5 new cards in the past 6 months and 9 in the past 12 months, though 1 will drop off the past 12 months on the 26th. I might want to wait till then. I don't know what Barclays considers excessive.
