I was excited about the CSR when rumors came out but it was the existence of the JPMR which delayed my decision to apply for the CSR. Looks like I'll have to settle for the CSR. Chase doesn't have any credit cards that distinguishes CPCs anymore. Hopefully they'll offer the JPMR to CPC customers in the future and that will keep me a happy customer.
You're "settling" for arguably the best credit card publicly available in the world right now.
I think it makes sense to have a
Chase Sapphire Reserve card for
Chase Private Clients, and a
J.P. Morgan Reserve card for
J.P. Morgan clients. If anything, they should formalize a full or partial CSR fee waiver for CPC clients, which would give them a nice perk to contrast with non-CPC clients who have to pay the full AF. That way CPC clients feel like they're getting something special. Giving CPC clients access to a J.P. Morgan-branded credit card just creates confusion.
