The function has always been there for award tickets, for a wait listed swu it has always been avai l able as well, you have a ticket number and if the swu is confirmed the ticket will be reissued so i don think your in formation is correct . The format of the current print trip is totally different than what the old print itinerary and receipt looked like. The new page is not optimized for print so that everything fits on one page but has a new large font.
The question still remains why did AA change this function and what issues might it cause us before or during travel. Ticket number was the one reliable piece of information that processing was completed correctly and now that's not available.
Exactly correct. Also inmy experience the emails that are supposed to come when your ticket is issued are no longer showing up for every ticket. I am presently on a trip now where I never received an email confirmation but was able to print out a receipt with one. If that is no longer possible you are in the position that when things go south you cannot show someone a ticket number. That is not right. edited to add it is an award ticket.
