If you want something like real cheap, then get the Crucial. I use that in my desktop, been using it since 2013. No problems. The reason I didn't get Samsung back then is because the price difference was greater at the time as I'm using 480 GB. Now with the prices of SSD's going down, will get the Samsung for sure.
As far as brands to stay away from, probably stay away from Corsair.
