My mom is Japanese and loves all things Singapore. For her retirement I wanted to take her on a trip to Japan and Singapore. I ideally would have loved to do LAX-NRT in suites, romp around Japan a little while, and continue from NRT-SIN in suites again. Since they're downgrading that to a 777 that is no longer an option. What I'm thinking now is to take business/first class from NGO/NRT/KIX-SIN and then take the a380 from SIN-FRA-JFK since I have never been on it either and would like to try it. Apparently, Singapore has been getting more and more stingy about releasing award space in the past few years. What are the general trends these days?

This trip is still a few years into the future, so for right now I'm just in the preliminary stage of gathering info.
