Manila is OK. You can visit Intramuros, the "old city."

However, the most impressive sight in Manila is the Manila American Cemetery in the Fort Bonifacio neighborhood. It's stunning. It's moving. It's really one of the great sights in the world and you shouldn't miss it, especially if you're an American. Bring ID, the caretaker may ask for it to let you in.
