Do you agree or not with the following statement...

" Don’t order a special meal as this cannot be upgraded with you. Airline meal numbers are tightly controlled and an airline would rarely serve a special economy meal in business class. "

The reason I am unlucky with upgrades is because I order special meals ??

I would eat meat - cows, cats and even a dog- if that means to get upgraded just kidding, I will always a veg, but I wonder if ordering a special meal is the reason.

Never upgraded as Gold, I am now Premier Platinum but also zero upgrades. Next month I will reach 1K for first time, being a UA 1K member will finally help with being upgraded on flights to US from Tokyo ? ( My flights to USA are from Narita/Haneda to Houston, LA and SFO )
