During a 5 hour stop over on the way to thailand, fell asleep (not me my friend) at the airport and missed the next flight.

He just booked another flight to get here.

His original itinerary included the return flights, would they be cancelled as he was a no show? He was able to check in online this morning (the return flight is tomorrow), there is no chance that he would be denyed boarding after checking in is there?
