I'll follow theox's advice and try to switch flights at the Al Safwa front desk (since it's a first class award ticket).
I already have an EY flight booked to take me to AUH.
I'll let you know which of the flights I cancelled.

Zero chance in my experience - Al Safwa desk WILL NOT handle ticketing requirements - I did the same - point blank inability to assist. Was instructed to go back through transit security & got to the transfer area ticket desk (who came up with that genius process!?).
