Actually, this isn't quite true. You cannot gain entry to a *A lounge with *G status if flying on a domestic ticket. If you're in the lounge in the states with a domestic ticket, you've either paid for a one day pass, or have a lounge membership which covers the "cost" of the alcohol. If you're in the lounge on an international ticket with *G (no membership) then the alcohol is free as a perk.
