But couldn't you still get food or drink after you woke, if there were still 3 hours to go? Also maybe you slept so well because you had a wider seat and more room, even if the seat was upright. Plus fewer PAX to disrupt you.

I'm similar - I just only want to fly paid F. We rarely fly so I can't get free upgrades and I don't have enough miles. I prefer F because I think it's more helpful with IRROPS. But mostly I just like the bigger seat and the lower crowdedness factor. I know it's expensive but it's easier to do when we rarely fly.
