I dont know of any other program that hotels that upgrade you to a club room without club access. I have only heard about it from IHG properties but not all do it that way. So pointless in my opinion.
It happened to me a few years back with a Park Plaza in London (Club Carlson - one of the worst schemes for decent upgrades imo).
Still it is so rare that I had assumed by now that a club room meant club access.
Oh well, the free breakfast, fruit plate in room and a couple of free drinks in the minibar(not sure if this is because it is club room or just a standard thing at this hotel) are still decent perks at this hotel and better that you get at most places. The hotel is very nice btw.
