Hi All,

Long time lurker but new member and first time poster!

Before FT made me smart, Mrs and I flew IB from London to Tenerife via Madrid. LGW-MAD leg was predictably delayed and we arrived with about 15mins to connect. Mad sprint across the terminal, gate reached with minutes to spare, but bags 'couldn't be transferred in time' so we'd been taken off the MAD-TFS flight and were told to come back the next morning for the next connecting flight. IB bundled us off to a miserable airport hotel, baggage-less, tired, angry, Mrs in tears. We went to bed exhausted.

The following morning we arrive at MAD, and our connecting flight is already showing as 'Boarding'. I then realise that our phones (and therefore alarms) hadn't updated to Madrid time automatically, and that in our anger the day before we'd overlooked Madrid being GMT+1 as both our origin and intended destination were just GMT. Hence we'd spent the whole morning living an hour in the past.

As expected, our flight to TFS was leaving from the most distant realm of MAD and of course we missed it again.

To top it all off, when we finally reached TFS, I discover that I've booked the hire car from Tenerife North.
