Thanks for all the great info! Still having trouble deciding between San Jose or Santa Rosa for five nights in November with my family (two adult children). I'd like to stay the entire time at one location as it sounds more relaxing. The location of Santa Rosa is more appealing as the main excursion we'd like to do is Uxmal. The other two things, besides relaxing, that we'd be interested in are cenotes and local cuisine. I think a day trip to a cenote or two is doable from Santa Rosa, but my main hesitation with this property is not being able to sample local dishes since it is so isolated. I know I'd love to go into merida a few nights for dinner and that seems so much more doable from San Jose. Thoughts on which property makes more sense for us?
