Has anyone ever tried to buy Ethiopian miles? It says that you can do it at any Ethiopian ticket office, does that include by phone (I am in the US, so an actual office would be challenging)? Can you use them immediately?

Any alternative ideas to get about 800 miles quickly for someone not based in Ethiopia? I couldn't find any options to transfer points to Shebamiles, but maybe I missed something?

I am hoping to use these for a partner award on United, so any hints for doing that successfully would also be appreciated. I'm hoping this can be done by phone as well? So far my interactions with Shebamiles customer service have been less than satisfying!
