Rather funny, albeit sweet, moment at MCT on Friday afternoon flying with WY to LHR.

A middle-aged lady was holding up the queue to get through to the Boarding Gate, and quite a few people behind were becoming agitated.

The staff kept repeating the same message to her, but she failed to comprehend the issue - despite being English, and the CS representative talking English.

I decided to pay attention, and the discussion was over the fact that the lady had been moved from 10K to 2A. Now, she always has 10K, and she travels with Oman Air all the time. She specififically booked the seat, as she likes the positioning and demanded to be moved back to her original seat - which I had been given!

I introduced myself, and asked her if she would like my seat, in return for the seat she had been offered. She was most grateful, and the CS Representative, totally bewildered, switched our boarding passes.

We boarded the plane, and I am escorted to 2A, while she walks to 10K. 2A of course is F, while 10K is the first row of J. I knew this during their discussion, but thought I would leave it as a surprise - with the intention being to switch onboard (once I'd taken photos!).

The lady was highly amused when I asked her if she would prefer to sit in First Class, and told me she flies all the time and had never been upgraded on WY. She told me WY was her favourite airline, and the crew made a song and dance for her since it was genuinely her first time in F.

Self-less good deed done for the week!
