I was thinking along those lines until I came to this gem :
"Previously, I’ve always managed in these situations, whether it be thanks to a helpful airline employee or some kind passengers who let me pass them in line."
So this isn't a one off but something that has "always" worked out for him. And those darn Scandinavians wouldn't accommodate his recurrent check-in problem? No this is entitled behavior.
