Hello. I've searched this forum but couldn't find an answer.

For the JL 003 flight from JFK to NRT, is it better to sit on the right side of the plane because of the inability of the windows to block out the southern sun? I would like a window seat, but I've read that the Dreamliner windows are not effective in blocking the sunlight and the resulting heat.

I've also read that the FAs hand out dark self-stick plastic covers to that do a good job in shielding the windows. Any truth to this?

Also, which are the better window seats in J?
