From reading this thread, it sounds like upgrades are completely hit or miss at this hotel. The wife and I booked a Rainbow Tower Oceanfront room for the first week in March. She's a Hilton Diamond. Does anyone have any idea of even whether we can get an upgrade that time of the year and, if so, what could we expect as an upgrade? Thanks!
There aren't too many opportunities to upgrade from what you already have. The ocean front corner rooms are gorgeous but there's only a limited number of those, maybe 40+. There are also the extra large rooms on the side of the building but if you want ocean front... Other than that, it would only be a higher room and that isn't always a benefit if you want to enjoy the ocean part. I've stayed at this hotel about 25 times and must have been in every type of room available. You could move to a tower further away from the ocean to get a big suite but that's a trade off.
