Watching the new sections going into place on the new one is a fascinating piece of engineering.
I drove across the existing bridge about 10 days ago. It really is amazing to see the new bridge under construction in three major sections with just a few short gaps remaining to be closed. And realizing that those gaps, where currently one side of the bridge is higher than the other, will soon be closed resulting in a basically level driving surface. Given the winds that can blow through there, the three tall construction cranes were engineering marvels to me.
