I have found a great airfare deal for me to fly non stop to Manchester in mid-April that is half of the cost to fly into Edinburgh. Has anyone driven between the two cities before? Is it pretty easy? Driving there doesn't seem too bad if you stay alert. I will need a car regardless as I am ultimately going up to St. Andrews to cross something off my bucket list while I can. Heck I'll probably stop and play a round somewhere on the way. Thanks for input!
There are direct trains from Manchester Airport to Edinburgh, so there's no need to have a car to get to Edinburgh. It's also not the greatest of ideas to drive immediately after a long haul flight especially if you are going to be driving for several hours and are unfamiliar with the roads.
You can also get to St Andrews by public transport
