It seems that there's another entrance from the back of the building (on Rue Volney), possibly going to the garage from Google street view. Do you know if that would lead to passing the front desk before the elevator or it'll be ok...?
I entered on Rue de la Paix and the front desk is after the elevators so you never actually walk by them.
