Are we talking about Android software or Google hardware? A "manufacturer" usually builds things so I'm thinking hardware, not software. Anyway, the near future for iPhone 7 users is filled with band aid solutions like this:

I'm squarely in the Apple camp and have been for years. Their products work for me and I'm happy using them. All that being said, that adapter is absolutely hideous. F
or a company that prides itself on the user experience, how can they think it's elegant to plug one's analog headphones into one's Apple-made Lightning dongle only to then plug it into one's 3rd-party dual-Lightning dongle for the privilege of charging one's phone while listening to music???? 
Though I guess in a way they are running google's OS... technically Google does kind of control them(I think that was the point he was trying to get at)
Even though its open source, in order to gain access to Google Play and other Google Services.. there are certain limitations and requirements for OEMs
