I don't think this would be a problem since Azul is very committed to flight schedule... I have Diamond status with Azul (that means I travel a lot with this company), and I can assure you they almost don't delay flights.. The only times my flights got delayed was flying with their ATR-72, never happened with their E-190/195.
In Brazil, when you search for a ticket the company is obligated to show the statistics of that flight. I took the screenshot of the flight you've mentioned:
It's an ATR flight and it have 15% cancelations, 0% delayed.
Why don't you buy this tickets with the multi-city option, getting one reservation code for both flights instead of two reservation codes? That way, if the first flight get cancelled or delayed, they are obligated to rearrange you for the next one..
