There's no such restriction on going to agriculturally sensitive states. As long as your originate in the US, there's no restriction on taking food from one state to another. There is an exception for taking of items from Hawaii to the US/US Territories. However even this is ok as long as the items are approved by the USDA.
California has very detailed rules on what fruits and veggies you can legally bring into the state, and from where.

Cantaloupes are admissible from all states.
In practice, CA doesn't have fruit police inspecting people getting off JFK-LAX flights to see if they're carrying blueberries, but they could.
