I just checked in at ZRH and my bags were tagged all the way to SCL (I saw the tag) and with AA all the way (except ZRH-LHR BA on AA stock) all in J. I was then told that I have to get my bag at DFW and check it in again when in Dallas.
When trasfering through MIA (to EZE) last year we did not have to get our bags.
Questions:
1) I believe the check-in agent is right about the bags but just want to check here?
2) Never flown through DFW before so this is virgin ground for me. If above is correct what "tricks" can you share to make it smoother for me?
I think I have about 2 hours transfer time from the LHR flight to the SCL flught.
Any pointers are very much welcomed.
The check in agent might not know about ITI tagging: the agent who checked you in for MIA and EZE did. DFW and MIA allow ITI / through checking for international to international passengers.
If you did not get ITI tagging you will have to retrieve your bags at DFW Terminal D and recheck, unfortunately. Two hours should be sufficient, albeit not relaxing.
Please read the Wikipost at the top of the page for extensive information about DFW. We took the liberty of merging your query into this existing Guide master thread. /Moderator
