Point to a bus heading in the direction of the falls that doesn't have any of these "moambistas" as they are called. Can't? Neither probably can the thieves.

What should you do? Fly, IMO.
Can you get a flight through Curitiba more cheaply than direct?

Well price difference for two people comes $600 bus vs. plane. And for non-direct flight with connection it is 5h, while it is just $80 cheaper to non-stop.

If I still have to go via bus, what are comfort levels on those? Can you comfortably sleep to the point that after arrival leave stuff at hotel and go sightseeing?

Never took a bus to Foz, so can't comment.

Nope. I plan to use my non-US passport for Brazil and US passport for Argentina.
