I'm the same. No breakage yet even when wrapped between clothing. Sometimes I remember wine sleeves or seek out bubble wrap.

Have to admit I never looked at the carriers own rules on alcohol but I know NZs customs rules on how much can come back into the country. There must be a bunch of people that don't look at the carriers rules and alcohol gets carried by EK above their preferred % eg Whisky.
