I got an offer of 500 for taking a supplementary card on my BA Amex. Did it as it seemed an certain win. Was in fact offered 3000 on my Amex Gold and did the same. Neither bonus posted and they said it can up up to 60 days. it seems so much is offered with an expectation you'll forget and they can achieve their aims at no cost. What would really make it take 60 days other than their choice to make you wait.
Back in July I got offered 5,000 for a supplementary on my Platinum Charge. I took it and received the card but no bonus. Spent on the supplementary later, thinking that might trigger it and still nothing. Got a little fed up of chasing points on the Platinum following a botched upgrade from Gold, so I just ended up closing the whole account. Will be back in six months' time with a Gold, followed by an upgrade to Platinum again (if deemed necessary, i.e. upcoming travel).
