Why aren't FC seats wider (or, why is the FC aisle wider than in coach?)
Why aren't first class seats wider?
I noticed that that the aisle in first class (on a USA domestic 2-class plane) is wider than in coach. Thus there is some "wasted" space in first class that could be filled with seating. 2 first class seats, on each side of the aisle, could be widened so that together they are as wide as 3 coach seats are.
Why doesn't this happen; why do US domestic airlines prefer having a wider aisle in first class than in coach, leaving the first class seats a bit narrower than they could be?
Thanks.
