Yup DL just devalued with no notice.
The only "speculative" points transaction I'll do is converting AMEX MR to Avios when there's a transfer bonus. I know I can use the Avios on CX intra-Asia.
I think we have some members that travel almost exclusively on purchased miles. That's a different model and I can see why buying "speculatively" when miles go on sale might make some sense there.
