While selecting my seats online I was offered a paid upgrade from Business to First. I was wondering about two things, but there are no details on the rebooking page, nor could Lufthansa give me the info on the phone as this is an "online special":
- What happens when I rebook? I know that fees etc are those of the underlying/originally booked fare, but what happens to the amount I paid for the upgrade? Will my booking book into an upgrade if that is available on the new flight? If it's not available, will I lose the amount that I paid for the upgrade or will it be refunded?
- Will mileage earning be that of the upgraded class (First), like Swiss does it for its Comfort package upgrades, or that of the underlying fare?
