What is a big deal is checking baggage. If the inbound is delayed two hours and you check in 90 minutes before the presumed new departure time (= 30 minutes after the scheduled time), will they accept your bags? I have asked this question before and not received a straight answer. Even if there is a straight answer I wouldn't trust AC to get it right. So when I know the inbound is late (which is easy to check in most cases) I always show up on time if I need to check bags.
