In Berlin, take either Das Stue (Boutique feel, green surroundings), or Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome (Historic building and location, nearby the major sights) or Soho House (contemporary style in historic building).

Adlon is touristy with bad-taste-80s furniture, Westin is 4 Star feeling, Waldorf Astoria is in a horrible location and treats lower staff badly, Hyatt is quite good,, but in a superficial part of town.
