They are and aren't the same points.
If you convert the Blue to an Everyday, the points remain and become transferable. (Presumably something similar would happen if you added a "full MR" card to the same account as Blue.)
But again, why get a Blue when (a) it's got no signup bonus AFAIK while the Everyday has at least a small signup bonus, and (b) it costs nothing more to get the Everyday.
The Everyday means you can cancel all your other Amex MR cards for a while and still be able to transfer. The Blue means that if you cancel all your Amex MR cards for a while, the points stay around, but are not transferable until you get a "full MR" card again.
While the Everyday didn't exist, Blue was the best you could with no AF.
But now that Everyday exists, Blue seems superfluous for anyone who's interested in Amex MR. (It's now just for those interested in cash back and nothing else. But even there Blue Everyday would seem to be replacing it.)
