Hi. I have two Iberia Business class Avios redemption tickets which I needed to cancel.

I booked them knowing there was a cancellation fee of €25 per ticket, however when I went ahead and cancelled the agent has not only charged me this €25 fee but also said the "YQ Carrier Charges" were not refundable either.

I questioned this with her, as I never saw it stated during the award booking process that taxes were NOT refundable - and certainly my experience from BA Avios tickets is taxes are always refunded.

I understand when non-flexible cash tickets are cancelled, they never refund airline+YQ taxes (but should refund airport taxes) - so was the agent wrong here - and getting mixed up between cash + avios tickets ... she seemed pretty sure of herself.

So, are ALL the taxes refundable on Iberia Avios tickets, or Not?
