Sadly for me, my regular route (LHR-CAI) only really has Egypt Air or BA as direct flights, and as I want to maintain status, it's BA. It's not BA as a given, as a I must fly BA unless there is something better.
....and despite being on the doorstep of the ME3 I'm in the same boat. Due to the extortionate cost of BA I actually looked at options with all of the ME3 for my trip Friday. None of them offered suitable schedules. It was either stupid tight connections, long layovers or arrival/departure times that cost me time from my vacation. Price wise there was no advantage either. So taken as a total package BA still offers the best service out of here. Due to the flight timing I have no need of meal service & in the last year or so the crew service has been excellent.
