Cairo: Hilton Ramses vs Conrad?
I'm considering spending several days in Cairo prior to embarking on a Nile cruise. I'd like opinions on which Hilton property is a better option. None of the threads I could find have recent entries, but from what I can gather, both properties are rather dated. It seems like the Ramses is more centrally located with restaurants and shopping nearby, but the Conrad might be quieter and perhaps slightly less dated. I'm a Diamond member, so I'm particularly curious as to which property offers better treatment of elite members--the quality of executive lounges, the likelihood of room upgrades, etc. Right now my plan is to spend several days exploring on my own. My cruise package includes a day of sightseeing in Cairo for the Pyramids and Egyptian Museum, but I would like to do and see more. Not sure which property is more convenient for that, or if it even matters. I do intend to use the pool and fitness center, so that's another consideration.
