Someone else mentioned frequent flier credit. There's nothing in life as hard trying to get frequent flier credit for your car rental. Even after you pay the "surcharge".
You must have a pretty easy life, especially as looking at my records of a 100 or so rentals the last few years, I've only not been credited for maybe half a dozen of them...and I don't get too worked up over 50 AA miles anyway.
