You can ignore the voice of some customers, as long as your load / yield (whatever it is called) is high enough and you see no breach of trend.

However, it is generally not wise to change your service offering if you are profitable, especially not using the cheese slicer method. (That is a Dutch expression you can probably work out for yourselves...)

However, if you are confident enough that you are dominant in your market (like BA is TATL) you can. I think BA realises that it can never compete with ME or Asian carriers, so it isn't trying. KL, LH etc are all very much no-fringe airlines. Have you been to a KL Crown lounge?

BA is probably also slightly unsure about what happens when a50 is invoked and after, so it is not unwise to create a healthy cash / budget reserve and make your operation as flexible as possible.

Their moves are not unwise, just inconvenient.
