Seriously? Firstly it was a misunderstanding - unfortunate at that - and not downright laziness etc, and secondly undermined by "even if that were the case". Implication is that it was probably not the case
I suppose my colleague's experience was "an unfortunate misunderstanding" but likely didn't really happen in any event
